VISION, MISSION, PHILOSOPHY
Vision

To provide comprehensive skill development in accordance with the "Athlete Development Model", supporting all levels of ice skaters. We strive to encourage physical, emotional and social growth and promote achievement through a positive learning environment and teamwork.

Mission

The  Skating Club offers comprehensive training programs that encourage the interest, enjoyment, development and advancement of its members to meet and/or exceed competitive standards as established by Skate Canada and the International Skating Union.

The  Skating Club is an organization committed to development all skaters to their full potential.  We achieve this through;

·       Representing the interest of all Club skaters

·       Offering programs of excellence

·       Maintaining high standards of Professional Coaching

·       Offering access to superior training facilities

·       Providing strong and effective leadership

Philosophy

Unified team coaching that allows each coach to focus on his or her special areas of interest and expertise. Team members also include our off-ice present and potential "Community Partners", including: Dance and Fitness Instructors, Nutritionists, Physiotherapists, Choreographers, Psychologists and Motivational Speakers. Skaters receive comprehensive training strategies through short and long term planning with their primary/base coach.

To promote and recognize continuous professional development as essential to athletic development.

The provision of superior on-ice programming that promotes rapid advancement and success in CanSkate through the CompetitiveSkate and STARSkate programs. Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on athletes participating in core Skate Canada programs. CompetitiveSkate programs include: Singles, Ice Dance and Pairs. STARSkate programs include: Freeskate, Ice Dance, Interpretive and Skating Skills.

An equal emphasis placed on off-ice training as crucial in the development of our "athlete first, skater second" mandate.

Group sessions that foster team spirit, keep instruction economical, and are fun and challenging for all levels of skaters.

Cost effective and flexible programming and services based on the principles of fairness and equality for all members.

A positive environment built on mutual respect, encouragement and teamwork as essential for proper development and advancement of the skater.
